Giuliana Giardi

I am an Italian native speaker and a passionate and fully qualified language tutor. Since 2000, I have been sharing my skills and competences in Italian language and culture. My career began at International House London when I moved to London and obtained the “Ih certificate to teach Italian to teaching Italian to Adults”, having been awarded my master’s degree in Modern Literature and Philology from the University of Bologna.

First teacher and then Teacher Trainer for the CLTA program (Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) at the school, I was part of the Italian department at University College London and taught in various British universities such as City University and University of Westminster. I taught Italian language courses at all levels in banks and private companies, such as The Economist Magazine, Deutsche Bank, Arup, NCIS, Agip Oil Company (UK) Limited, and also taught at the Cabinet Office and at the Treasury, preparing students for official exams.

In Italy, after a Master in Human Resource Management, I also collaborated with the University of Bologna and Johns Hopkins University, I taught at the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), for the British Institute of Florence and for Virginia Tech University, often also dealing with the coordination of courses.

For several years I have been organizing intensive courses and study holidays in Bologna for those looking for a ‘full immersion’ in Italian life and culture, and I have been giving online lessons for those who prefer the convenience of not leaving their home.

All this time I have been lucky enough to meet people of all nationalities, ages, and experiences, sometimes following them on their travels around the world. I truly enjoy teaching Italian and interacting with people from different cultures. It’s been my good fortune to remain in contact with many of my former students and I treasure the friendships I’ve made with people from different corners of the world.
